ABOUT VNIIZhT
The Railway Research Institute (JSC VNIIZhT) is the largest scientific and research center in the field of creation of innovative and digital railway solutions, R&D activities as well as testing of railway infrastructure elements and rolling stock.
VNIIZhT was founded in 1918. In 2008, it was transformed into a Joint Stock Company – a subsidiary of JSC Russian Railways.
VNIIZhT Test Center provides for unique capabilities for testing new and existing railway machinery:
Static and laboratory tests
Test Loop (speed up to 140 km/h)
High Speed Test Site (speed up to 250 km/h)
Tests on operating lines
VNIIZhT has 5 regional branches, 18 research centers, 1200 high-quality qualified professionals.
Since 2010, at the premises of VNIIZhT the Joint Scientific Council of JSC Russian Railways has been functioning. The Council consists of Members and Corresponding Members of the Russian Academy of Sciences, transport universities rectors and directors generals of rail research institutes.
VNIIZHT has unique training opportunities: postgraduate study, dissertation council, staff development programmes.
